Carbon Farming Initiative submission

The Federal Government has developed a Carbon Farming Initiative which will allow farmers, forest growers and landholders access to domestic voluntary and international carbon markets. This is the first time, a Federal Government will help facilitate the sale of carbon credits on domestic and international markets.

The consultation paper (PDF 902 KB) | (Word 1.26 MB) is the first step in a dialogue with stakeholders about the Carbon Farming Initiative. It describes and seeks stakeholder feedback on a range of options in relation to the design of the scheme.

Conservation SA welcome the development of the Carbon Farming Initiative (CFI), to provide some much-needed clarity about land-use carbon sequestration projects, and some standards to ensure these achieve genuinely beneficial outcomes. To view our full submission open the link below.
