This year's Walk Against Warming took a different turn as people took to their local streets for The Great Neighbourhood Walk in the lead up to the federal election of 21 August.
Participating walkers delivered a whopping 80,000 letters (recycled paper of course!) to people in their neighbourhoods.
The letters expressed their serious concern for the environment and asked the householder to add their voice to a petition calling for our incoming Prime Minister to take action for a bright climate future. 80,000 households is a big chunk of the population!Petitions have been coming in thick and fast and we will shortly be making a sizeable national submission to the incoming PM, asking them to 'walk with the people, not the big polluters'.
The Great Neighbourhood Walk has been a resounding succuss and we wholeheartedly thank all who participated and made it possible.
