On Sunday June 5 there will be a National Day of Action to Say Yes to cutting carbon pollution and a cleaner Australia. Rallies are being held across the nation to demonstrate Australians Say Yes to a Price on Carbon Pollution. Already nationwide over 7 900 people have said Yes and are attending the rallies.
Adelaide will have its own event on Sunday June at 5, 11am in Victoria Square. The Conservation Council of SA says Yes to action on climate change, we will be at the rally to show we want serious and meaningful action on a carbon price.
Already this year we have launched our Green Our Grid campaign to fast-track the transition from carbon to renewable energy in South Australia. We are also campaigning for South Australia to have meaningful 2020 carbon emissions targets.
We support an adequate carbon price to help transition our economy away from carbon. We Say Yes to reducing pollution and embracing a cleaner and healthier future Australia. It's reasonable to ask the big polluters to pay a fair amount per tonne of carbon they emit so they have an incentive to pollute less.
We need to show our leaders we support action on climate change. Conservation Council SA is encouraging our members to join the Adelaide rally and SAY YES to an adequate price on carbon.
