The fact sheets highlight:
- habitat and biology,
- conservation status,
- reasons why the species is of conservation concern,
- major potential and current threats, and
- a range of ways of addressing these threats.
Species selected represent a broad and representative range of:
- required habitats,
- biological parameters,
- levels of current knowledge, and
- levels of current and required conservation action
These species fact sheets are designed to engage and educatate regarding some of the diverse and fascinating SA fish species of conservation concern and act as a lead in to some of the more in depth information prepared as part of this project. Other resources include information on threats and solutions and relevant legislation.
These sheets are relevant to a wide range of audiences including:
- NRM boards
- Government (Local, State and Federal)
- Community groups
- Coast and Marine professionals
- Marine environment users such as fishers, surfers, boaties, tourism operators etc.
The fact sheets are presented here as pdf. files and file sizes have been reduced to facillitate easy downloading.
