Key role of Member Group:

The key role of Animal Liberation is to prevent harmful exploitation of animals.

Key Achievements and Activities for 2008/09:

  • Vegan cooking classes
  • Production of a new range of leaflets highlighting the connections between food choices and their environmental impact.
  • The recognition by environment groups of the connection between food and climate change and other environmental issues is slowly rising ... we can point to numerous news articles during the previous 12 months which confirm this, but there is still a long way to go.

Identify three key environmental issues impacting on South Australia:

  • 1. Climate change ... changing food choices is the biggest thing an individual can do in their daily life to reduce their carbon footprint. To this end we run vegan cooking classes
  • 2. Distribute educational material relating to the impact of food choices on the environment
  • 3. Food choices also impact water use and pollution.
