Key Role of Member Group:

To defend and extend public transport in South Australia.

Key Achievements and Activities for 2008/09:

• Representative attended CCSA Energy Summit February 2009
• Appeared at hearings of Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Committee Inquiry into the investment of Commonwealth and State funds in public passenger transport infrastructure and services 23 July

• Made submission to Plan for Greater Adelaide
• Met with Speaker in Residence Fred Hansen on public Transport/pedestrian/bicycle issues in conjunction with other groups October 2009
• Organised briefings from Department of Transport (DTEI) on service and infrastructure changes for members and other interested people. (Timetable and route changes, Belair line and tram overpass.)
• Followed up enquiries from public on public transport issues.
• Took part in interviews with media
• Letters to Editor/media releases
• Corresponded with transport providers and DTEI/Minister and answered DTEI questionnaires
• Attended seminars on planning, TODs and public transport
