Key Role of Member Group:

• A forum for members of groups and individuals, offering mutual support, co-operation and information sharing regarding environmental issues related to Spencer Gulf and environs.
• Coastal habitat protection in certain areas around the Gulf.
• Advocacy and community education of environmental issues around Spencer Gulf.

Key Achievements and Activities for 2008/9:

• Old Salt Works Conservation Zone (just north of Port Augusta) coastal habitat protection and recovery involving weed control, limiting off road vehicle access, revegetation, flora and fauna surveys, community education, media campaign.
• BHP facilities (desalination and port) at both Whyalla and Port Augusta - media campaign and talks with government and business.
