The Conservation Council of South Australia today announced its support for the Boomerang Alliance and recycling industrys National Recycling Initiative (NRI) that will see recycling play a leading role in Australias economic recovery.
Over $2 billion in infrastructure investment will maximise the value of recyclable materials prior to export, whilst simultaneously delivering significant environmental benefits and climate change mitigation.Leading Australian companies Visy, Sims Group, Amcor, Alcoa Rolled Aluminium Products and SITA Environmental Solutions will sign the NRI pledge to increase resource recovery by at least 2 million tonnes per annum by 2014.
