Australian Conservation Councils urge Prime Minister Gillard to take action on Climate Change

Conservation SA have united with Australia's peak conservation councils urging Prime Minister Gillard to take urgent action on reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.

Collectively the councils are calling on the Prime Minister to seize the opportunity and ensure that her government delivers real action on climate change.

Although the peak conservation councils do not support the emissions trading scheme in its current form, we all support the urgent introduction of an effective price signal on greenhouse pollution complemented by actions that can immediately help meet the vital target of halving our emissions over the next decade.
