In South Australia we have some ambitious NRM targets. We know the only way to achieve them is by working together. NRM Boards and NGOs demonstrated their committment at a recent workshop aimed at maximising opportunities to collaborate and achieve NRM outcomes for SA.

CCSA wants to see non-government organisations (NGOs) better engaged in natural resource management (NRM). In February 2009 we completed research on NGO engagement with NRM Boards in SA with a report called “NGO Engagement in SA NRM Regional Processes”. CCSA took on the challenge as a Peak body recognised under the state NRM Act 2004. Since then the key points from the research have been presented to the CCSA Council, The Minister for Environment & Heritage, the CE of DWLBC and the NRM Council. The findings identified that there can be significant barriers for conservation groups fully engaging in NRM processes.
