Dear Premier,

The mining boom will significantly increase SA's greenhouse emissions over the next decade. It creates both the imperative and the funding base to move away from fossil fuels.

Gas is a fossil fuel whose cost, emissions and health impacts will only increase as unconventional sources are expanded.

SA can be a global exemplar in large-scale renewable energy, starting by replacing the Playford B coal power station with a solar thermal facility with energy storage.

As our new leader, we urge you to take up this challenge.
