Community Climate Conversations

In 2023, 750 South Australians from diverse backgrounds, with diverse interests, and from diverse locations got involved and participated in 114 community conversations across the state. The focus of the conversations: what can South Australians do, what can their communities do, what should government do, and what should industry do to help us achieve net zero emissions by 2050?

This report summarises the feedback and reflections provided through these 114 conversations. The report is provided to assist the South Australian State Government in understanding the views of the community and to inform the development of strategies for reaching the Government’s targets of net zero emissions by 2050.

The process was hosted by the SA Conservation Council and South Australians for Climate Action. The engagement process was designed, managed, and implemented by independent engagement consultancy democracyCo.

The project was supported, sponsored, and funded by the Department for Environment and Water. This report was prepared by democracyCo following a thorough analysis of the information received from the 110+ conversations via an online portal.
