Is nature really just a vision of the countryside? Nature exists in our backyards, parklands and cities yet it is often thought of as ‘out there’ and remote wilderness.
The Nature of SA project is challenging our collective approach to nature conservation and exploring how nature can be part of our everyday life. In order to enable the community to become better stewards of our diverse natural environments we need to remind people how meaningful nature can be - in all its forms.
Part of the Nature of SA story is strengthening the importance of nature to our identity as South Australian's, now and into the future. Improving the way we view, speak of and identify with nature will influence future generations and we can end up in a place where people and politicians say ‘of course we respect and protect nature, that’s just what South Australians do.’
