Be a Tree Champion

We’re asking you to be a tree champion by writing to key decision-makers NOW to tell them that you support improvements to our tree protection laws.

Government changes made in 2011 saw protections weakened, this has led to significant losses of our big old trees, many of which are remnant, pre-dating European colonisation. The changes also saw South Australia go from nation-leader to laggard on trees.

We need trees more than they need us. They play an enormously important role in our lives: they clean the air we breathe, produce oxygen and store carbon. They cool our homes and streets, they safe-guard and improve both our mental and physical health. They keep us connected to nature by providing habitat for birds and animals. They help take pressure off infrastructure by absorbing huge amounts of rain. They keep us happy and healthy!

Change our future - demand stronger protections for our trees and protect our living world.

Please make your email more powerful by personalising it – change the subject line and add a dot point or two to tell the Minister why trees are so important to you and your community.
