Conservation SA’s nuclear-free campaign is happy to announce our 2018 organic wine fundraiser, held in conjunction with Gemtree Wines, to raise funds and awareness of our waste dump campaign.
The Federal Government intends to select a site for a National Radioactive Waste Management Facility in regional South Australia by the end of 2018.
This would be used for the disposal of low-level waste and the indefinite storage of long-lived intermediate-level waste. Currently there is no further plan or place identified for the future management of this waste, some of which needs to be isolated for up to ten thousand years.
We are working with the affected communities of the Flinders Ranges and Kimba on the Eyre Peninsula to stop this flawed and divisive process and are calling for an independent inquiry into the full range of options to ensure the best possible management of Australia’s most hazardous waste.
Our campaign work at this time is vital. We need your support. Please support the campaign by ordering some lovely organic wine.
