THE NEXT SIX MONTHS WILL SHAPE SOUTH AUSTRALIA FOR DECADES TO COME.

I’m not exaggerating!

Right now, there are three things that can either put our state on the map as one of the best places in the world to live….or take us completely in the wrong direction.

In response to each, you could say ‘we need to drop everything else to make sure together we win this.'

But as the state’s lead voice for the environment we can’t let any of them drop.  And as someone who cares for SA’s amazing natural spaces, clean air and precious water, neither can you.

So what are they?

1. OUR MURRAY RIVER AT RISK AGAIN

You might be forgiven for thinking that a deal was done to secure the healthy future of our greatest and most important River – the Murray.

The deal has to be signed off by June this year. But we are hearing very worrying noises that in response to pressure from upstream irrigators SA could lose out on our fair share. If that happens, the future of the Coorong is bleak.

It is essential that South Australians stand up strongly between now and June and insist the deal that was struck is kept. If we stay silent, or if the bigger states think they can bully and push us around, we will get dudded.

It’s never been more important for a strong, community-led voice to stand up for our most precious natural waterway. The future of the Murray depends on it.

Will you please donate to this essential work to protect our river today?

2. OUR CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE THREATENED

The big energy companies and other people who profit from dirty fossil fuels are terrified of South Australia’s renewable energy success story. Right now there is a deliberate campaign to spread lies and intentionally misrepresent that wind and solar are increasing power prices. Do you want them to get away with this?

With your support we can jump into the media and respond to misinformation. We can generate game-changing reports like our hugely influential 100% Renewable Electricity for South Australia. And we can ensure our pollies get the very clear message that South Australians just like you love solar, wind and other clean energy.

Please get behind our campaign for 100% renewable energy for South Australia by donating today.

3. STANDING UP TO A NUCLEAR WASTE DUMP

And then there’s the very real prospect that we will become the world’s dumping ground for high level nuclear waste. We know the risks are too great. Choosing to import the world’s high level nuclear waste is not an ordinary decision – it’s a forever decision. There’ll be no turning back or changing our minds. Our children will be living with our choice forever – a choice they will no longer be able to make themselves.

We need your help to deliver a powerful and positive alternative to a nuclear waste future.

Please get involved by giving your financial contribution to this campaign before it is too late.

Three issues.

All with the potential to shape our state for good or bad for decades.

We’re up for the challenge. We know how important each of them is. But we simply can’t do it alone.

Please, if you can, we need your support. Today. This is your chance to actively help protect the environment that you love.

Thank you,

Craig Wilkins
