Each year, the SA Environment Awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge South Australians who give their time, expertise and passion on behalf of our precious natural environment.
Nominations for the 2018 Awards will open soon in the following categories:
Jill Hudson Award
This annual award — celebrating its 25th year in 2018 — is in memory of Jillian Hudson (1948 -1997) who was born, lived, studied, taught and died in South Australia. Most of Jill’s working life was spent teaching primary school children. Jill had strong concerns for the environment and she made sure that these concerns were passed on to her students whom she told: "Life is an opportunity and its purpose is to stand for something and to make a difference."
Young Achiever Award
South Australia's young environmentalists make a great contribution to the protection of our environment through many avenues, including their involvement in community awareness campaigns, volunteerism, political advocacy, research and science, and on-ground work. Conservation SA’s Young Achiever Award recognises those who are committed to improving environmental outcomes.
Unsung Hero Award
There are many individuals and groups in South Australia who, over a sustained period of time, have made a difference to the environment. Conservation SA’s Unsung Hero Award recognises those who have a long-standing record and commitment to protecting the environment.
Lifetime Achievement Awards
This year, the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award is a closed category, but nominations will be open for future Awards.
Nominations for the open categories will be accepted from September 2018 - date TBA.
