Give a Damn project hits the ground running

People aged 16-24 years are actively defining their identity and place in the world in a new era of social media and climate change.

Give a Damn is Conservation SA's new project exploring how young people can make day-to-day behaviour changes to be more sustainable.

The project will see a number of exciting trial initiatives undertaken and we'd like to invite young people to help plan and implement them.

Under the Give a Damn banner, we're running a project called Plastic Free Parties, where we'll equip volunteers aged 18-24 years to hold a plastic-free session for their friends at home. The parties will give young people an opportunity to try out some plastic alternatives like bamboo straws and toothbrushes, as well as the chance to make their own beeswax wrap.

We will also be organising an online competition for people aged 16-20 years to submit their sustainability tips. This project will build a community of young people sharing ideas, having fun and winning prizes.

If you know any young people interested in being involved, share this post!

They can nominate to volunteer on these projects by emailing [email protected].

We're excited to share what we have planned soon, so watch this space!
