South Australia’s Ocean Is in Crisis.

A toxic algal bloom is devastating marine life across South Australia, threatening wildlife, aquaculture, and coastal communities.

Conservation Council SA's Role
Conservation Council SA has joined the Harmful Algal Bloom Reference Group to push for a response that puts nature and resilience at the heart of recovery. We are continually advocating for more comprehensive and appropriately resourced monitoring, response and future proofing.

As the peak body for environment, we also support our member groups and other local environmental groups in activating community around the algal bloom.

Because without healthy ecosystems, there’s no industry. Nature must be part of the solution.
