Bird Flu Is Here. Help Us Give Our Wildlife a Fighting Chance.
Right now, we are seeing multiple mass mortality events begin to unfold across our state. H5N1 avian bird flu reached South Australian shores in June 2026, and South Australia has since recorded more confirmed detections than any other state in the country.
This bird flu has spread across most of the world and has had significant impacts on wildlife wherever it has landed. Without action, we risk losing more species than we can count — some may become extinct.
Together we are a force for nature. Conservation SA is working to make sure there is adequate government funding to support our at-risk species, and that community is properly engaged in the solution.
What your donation achieves:
A strong voice representing the environment sector
A continued push for community to be actively involved in the solutions
Pressure on funding at a national and state level to reduce threats in key systems
Truth-telling and fact sharing directly with community
Donate today to help Conservation SA help our most at-risk species and systems survive.
