Bring the Bloom to the Polluters

A community rally: make big polluters pay!

South Australia's coastline is in crisis. Hundreds of thousands of marine animals have died. Marine communities have been devastated. Beaches we've loved our whole lives are making us sick. And someone needs to foot the bill, but it shouldn't be us.

Here's what we know: warmer ocean temperatures accelerate algal blooms like the one choking our coast right now. Climate change is making our oceans warmer. And Santos, South Australia's biggest gas polluter, has been a major contributor to that climate damage for decades. They profit. We pay. That's not fair.

On Saturday 28th of March at 10:30am, we're marching from Victoria Square to Santos headquarters on Flinders Street to say: enough is enough. It's time the SA government made big polluters like Santos pay compensation to clean up our coastline.

Come along to:

  • Hear from scientists, fisherfolk, and community members about what's really happening to our coast
  • Get across the facts so you can talk confidently with your friends, family, and community about the bloom and who should be held accountable
  • Show decision-makers that South Australians across the community, not just climate activists, want fairness

This is a peaceful, family-friendly march. Everyone is welcome.

DRESS CODE: Wear blue. Bring the beach.

Show up in blue - any shade - or come dressed for a day at the coast. Boogie boards, snorkels, fins, rashies, and wetsuits are all welcome. Let's make it visual, make it fun, and make it impossible to ignore!
