A new force for nature in SA

A healthy environment equals a healthy life.

It's a simple enough fact, but one that’s too often overlooked in decision making. The South Australian Nature Alliance plans to change this mindset; their mission is to put nature restoration first.

The SA Nature Alliance is a new fighting force made up of 12 of SA's leading nature organisations who have come together to protect, preserve and restore nature in the SA region. Their message is clear: nature is in crisis and a restoration economy is needed to secure our environment into the future.

The idea of a 'restoration economy' means putting nature at the heart of decision making by restoring our essential natural ecosystems to support SA jobs, regions and wellbeing. Our economy, climate, people and country are dependent on nature to thrive, a concept many people lack connection with.

This is why the goal of the SA Nature Alliance is to encourage people from all walks of life to connect with nature. Currently, the Alliance works with over 270,000 South Australians, including farmers, landowners, communities, business and governments, to deliver conservation programs and projects, from environmental planning to nature education and advocacy.

With more than 40 projects on the table, including developing a ‘Green jobs package’ and investments in nature-based education in schools and communities, The SA Nature Alliance is well underway to shifting the nature narrative and establishing SA as a leader in the conservation sector.

Check out the SA Nature Alliance website for more insights into their current projects, their visions for a restored future, and how you can contribute to positive change.
