I need to declare my hand. I’m in love. Strong trunk, long limbs. What more could I want? Always cool, even on a scorching day. Constant. Steadfast. Able to weather life’s storms. Looks after me in ways I will never be able to measure. Expects nothing in return. Yes, it's my favourite tree. |

I’m writing a love letter to my tree and I’m going to send it to my local MP, perhaps even with a few beautiful leaves or a piece of bark. I’m undecided – there is much beauty in a tree. Maybe I’ll send a photo instead?
At the moment, the only time anyone reaches out to talk about trees, it’s to complain and moan. My MP needs to know that our trees are loved and treasured.
