Marine Sanctuaries

The South Australian Government has just released its plan to cut back some of our most precious marine sanctuaries, including in the Great Australian Bight and off Kangaroo Island – putting our unique marine life, tourism businesses and local communities at risk!  These sanctuaries have been in place for six years, providing critical protection to all kinds of incredible marine life, most of which is found nowhere else on Earth.

Survey data snapshot

A survey was conducted to gauge public opinion on the importance of marine sanctuaries in South Australia. Download the full data report here.

This poll was conducted online between 10-16 July 2020 to a representative sample of n=807 Australian citizens aged 18+ who live in South Australia. Data has been post-weighted by age, gender, location and education to reflect the latest ABS population estimates.
