Concerned community members, environment groups, politicians, scientists and industry representatives gathered on the steps of Parliament House to hold a vigil for the St Kilda Mangroves on World Wetlands Day.
Hundreds of people heard from Kaurna Elder Jeffrey Newchurch, scientists Peri and Faith Coleman, members of Parliament Susan Close MP, Tammy Franks MP, Mark Parnell MP and leader of the Opposition Peter Malinauskas MP on the tragic loss of hectares of mangroves and samphire salt marsh in Adelaide's north - and what we need to do to save this globally significant part of the world.
