Did you see these terrible reports in today's news?
- Fears 100 wombats were buried alive in a disturbing case of animal cruelty
- Wombats buried alive prompts Environment Department to move dead animals
We were shocked and horrified to read about this gross mistreatment of some of our state's most beloved creatures.
It's essential that the people who did this are brought to justice. There is NEVER an excuse for cruelty to animals, especially when it's directed at our precious and threatened native fauna.
The Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) is struggling to pursue this type of prosecution through lack of funding, so it's up to everyday South Australians to raise our voices and tell our leaders that we will not stand for this.
Show you love our wombats by calling on Minister Hunter to prosecute those responsible to the full extent of the law.
Join us in standing up to protect our native animals.
