Today is National Volunteer Day, and we're thrilled to be able to shine a spotlight on one of our amazing volunteers: Augusto 'Tuto' Acevedo.

What do you do at Conservation SA?

I am a volunteer supporting Reef Watch on data collection and assisting with Conservation SA's Nationbuilder database.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I enjoy spending time with my friends at BBQs or the beach. I like to study and to learn different things. I ride bicycles (sometimes!) and love cooking for my family and friends.

What are you reading/watching right now?

A few weeks ago I finished The Art of War by Sun Tzu and recently watched Jumanji and Miracle on Cell No. 7.

Have any favourite quotes?

"Don't trust everything you see, don't believe everything you hear and don't say everything you know."

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

From my mother: Whatever you do, do it well or don't do it.

What’s your favourite Australian native animal?

Koala

What’s your favourite place in SA?

Victor Harbor in general!

What’s been your proudest moment at Conservation SA?

When I felt that my contribution in supporting the databases helped with the results that Conservation SA needed and my knowledge was being used helping others.
