AQUATIC HABITAT RESTORATION: MAKING A DIFFERENCE

How can our aquatic habitats be more healthy and self-sustaining, and provide expanded habitat for fish and other species?
How can recreational fishers restore habitat and enhance recreational fishing and other water based activities?

Hear from Craig Copeland who has led ground-breaking work in fish passage restoration, wetland rehabilitation, floodgate and acid sulphate soil management and river resnagging.

Craig is the founder of OzFish Unlimited which supports recreational fishers to protect and restore their local fish habitats. Craig won a Churchill Fellowship in 2012 to investigate the motivation of recreational fishers in the US, UK and Ireland to restore fish habitat.

The Estuary Care Foundation SA, which focuses on the restoration and conservation of the Port River and Barker Inlet Estuary, is organising this Science Week event in conjunction with OzFish Unlimited and with the support of a National Science Week SA Community Grant.
