Conservation SA’s Nature for You program provided access to free activities in nature for disadvantaged communities, with a focus on the benefits to health and well-being. Nature for You was a 2-year program about everyone having the opportunity to enjoy the benefits that nature can provide.
Why nature?
There are many benefits from spending time in nature. Natural spaces are a great place to take time out from every day cares, to refresh, recharge and reflect. Nature for You enables access to these benefits for diverse communities.
Sometimes it can be hard to know where to go, how to get there, and how to find your way around once you are there. Conservation SA staff led participants through walks in accessible natural spaces in Adelaide and surrounds, provide relevant information, and facilitated simple activities to increase general well-being.
We worked in partnership with social services organisations and local councils to provide easy and inspiring nature experiences for their communities.
Some organisations we have worked with:
Clayton Wesley Uniting Church (Hope's Cafe)
Common Ground
