The Politics of Scarcity

The next meeting of Sustainable Population Australia will be at 7.30 pm in the Joinery (see above) on Wed 30 May 2018. SPA member John Tons will present a talk entitled 'The Politics of Scarcity', in which he will review several books he has encountered in his PhD. These are:

MACASKILL, W. 2016. Doing Good Better, London, Faber.

HOESCHELE, W. 2010. The economics of abundance a political economy of freedom, equity and sustainability, London, Farnham: Taylor and Francis.

DIAMANDIS, P. H. & KOTLER, S. 2012. Abundance, New York, Free Press.

BREGMAN. Utopia for Realists

 

SPA is also looking into holding a stall at the next World Environment Fair (http://worldenvironmentfair.org.au/) at the Showgrounds on the w/e 2-3 June. Those keen to be involved in more hands-on activities with SPA are encouraged to suggests ideas for the display and volunteer for the roster! Contact Sandra Kanck about that at [email protected].
