Watch now: SA: Too Good to Waste webinar

The Federal Government is pushing ahead with a highly controversial plan to ship radioactive waste from Lucas Heights in Sydney to Kimba in SA’s Eyre Peninsula.

On 19 August 2020, we held an online panel discussion to explore why this proposal makes no sense, and why the local Traditional Owners and Kimba farmers are so opposed.

Speakers:

Karina Lester – Yankunytjatjara Native Title Aboriginal Corporation

Jason Bilney – Barngarla Determination Aboriginal Corporation

Susan Close – Dep. Leader, Australian Labor Party (SA)

Pete Woolford – No Radioactive Waste on Agricultural Land in Kimba or SA

Dave Sweeney – Australian Conservation Foundation

Hosted by:

Craig Wilkins, Conservation SA
