Sea Lion Round Table

The Kangaroo Island Tourism Alliance and Conservation SA cordially invite you to a

Round table discussion on the impacts of Australian Sea Lion decline on tourism and conservation

on 11 November 2021 at Kangaroo Island Business Hub, Commercial Street, Kingscote

Please contact Craig Wilkins to receive a Zoom link if you are unable to attend in person

Australian Sea Lion numbers are falling. This has big implications for conservation and for South Australia’s tourism industry.

The Australian Sea Lion is a major tourism drawcard for visitors to SA and an icon for the $100million tourism industry on Kangaroo Island and its beautiful, pristine beaches, with many tour operators relying on this iconic species to drive visitation.

Recently, the Australian Sea Lion was officially uplisted to ‘Endangered’ by the Commonwealth Government.

The aim of this Round Table is to better understand what is happening to this iconic species, and what can be done to reverse the decline in their numbers.
