Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has applied to the Native Vegetation Council to remove these trees so they can put in an overtaking lane. Some of these trees are regulated or significant, but the exemption that allows DIT to remove them for road projects sees them vulnerable and essentially without protection.
