Snap action for Adelaide's trees

On Wednesday 14 October 2020 we held a snap action on the steps of Parliament House to shine a light on Adelaide’s broken big tree laws.

Experts say that if a typical 140-year-old tree is cut down, 891 new trees are required to replace all the benefits lost. But when a 300-year-old Significant Tree is felled, the law requires a replacement of just three seedlings (and only two for Regulated Trees)!

So with the help of Trees For Life (SA) and a collective of passionate South Australians, we brought 891 seedlings to show our leaders the real cost of cutting down one of Adelaide's big trees.
